I did it!!!

I am packed! Praise the Lord! I am absolutely thrilled to be done with that! So tomorrow I can focus on cleaning house and getting everything in order. It is amazing how much you have to do before leaving town. But for the most part I am ready to go.

You might not believe this!

It's Monday, and believe it or not I have to go back to the ball park tonight. It's a good thing I love my kids. Otherwise nobody would ever play baseball in this house. It is suppose to rain. So we will see if we have practice or not.

Told you so!!

I spent a total of 5 1/2 hours at the ballpark today. That is way to much, as far as I am concerned. I told you I would be spending my days there! It was soooooo hot. Elijah's clothes were ringing wet with sweat. Now that he is moving up his practices are getting longer and much harder. He worked in the blazing hot sun for 3 hours today. That's about 2 hours and 45 minutes more than I would have done. I am really proud of how hard he works and how good his attitude is when he is on the field. He never complains during practice. Even when it is well above 90 degrees and he is fielding fly balls in the outfield. When I was 9 years old I would not have been nearly as committed or disciplined. He really is a great kid.

It's Baseball time in Tennessee?

I know, I know it should say football time. However, Elijah and Isaac are playing fall baseball. So I am back to the ball park again for another season. It is sooooo time consuming. But I really love it!! Elijah is thrilled he made it on the highly coveted Impact team. Life for Elijah is good. Isaac ended up on a new team. Literally a new team, they did not exist before this season. Two of his good friends are also on the team. So life for Isaac is good. My boys are happy. So life for Mom is also good.

To French or not to French?

Ok, I am going to admit that I LOVE this look. Unfortunately, the public opinion of late is that the look is out of date and tacky. With that in mind I am adding a pole. I am going on a cruise in three weeks. I am going to get a new pedicure before we leave. Should I go with the clean classic French manicure that matches everything? Or, should I try to at least look somewhat in style and pick a nice solid color?
Yes, I know all of the "don't bow to peer pressure" lectures. I am not trying to decide whether or not to follow my heart or follow public opinion. Its no where near that deep of a subject. I just cant make up my mind so I thought I would ask my friends. So go VOTE!

Too big for my britches.

Just when I thought it was safe to go back to a support group meeting!!! I went to the monthly Homeschool Support Group Meeting tonight. I really enjoy the fellowship and it was great to have a relaxing evening. Unfortunately, one of the moms brought a "cold veggie pizza." I say unfortunate because as with most foods I try I loved it. I Really don't need another food item in my life that I love to eat. As if the list of "got to eats" wasn't long enough now I have to add veggie pizza.
What was I thinking? I know better than to try new things. I always like them. Unlike my husband who NEVER tries anything. His list of food faves basically includes chicken, burgers, corn, okra and ketchup. Ketchup is considered a food group for him. Anything else is deemed unnecessary for basic nutrition. If I were more like him I would be very thin. There is only so much chicken I can stomach. So until they make chicken that tastes like veggie pizza I will remain to big for my britches, literally.

The Whole Package.

This is what I got to see tonight. Thanks to Caleb and Katherine. Before you get jealous please know that he looks that shiny because he sprayed his body with Pam. No pam is not a girl. It is a cooking spray.
So keeping in line with my need to blog about food I will continue. Considering that he looks like he has been cooked and we know he is oiled up, maybe you could fry an egg on his chest. You know that those bright lights have to get really hot.
Oh yeah, Caleb, this guy may have the "whole package" but when you wrap a package up that tight nobody wants to squeeze it and figure out whats inside.
I did however see some amazing tattoo's. And huge breasts. But that was before the ladies even took the stage. There is something wrong when the guys have larger boobs than the girls and the girls have legs and arms like a man. Oh well, it was fun to watch. I enjoyed experiencing something new and seeing my friends.

HOT DOG!

I am beginning to realize that I blog a great deal about food. I suppose that gives you a glimpse to what I do with a great deal of my life. But I cannot resist the temptation to share my love of really good food with everyone I know.
With that in mind I would like to talk about hot dogs. Not just any hot dogs. But Nathan's hot dogs. Perhaps the best in the world. Definitely the best I have ever tasted. And to be perfectly honest I don't even like hot dogs very much. These babies catapult dog eating into an entire new category. It's like a cross between a hot dog and a polish sausage. Oh yeah, they are skinless too. What more could you want.

BLACK is my new black.

I have been trying to hit some of the sales lately. I need a couple of cocktail dresses for the cruise. There will be two formal nights. I have not done formal since the prom. Unless you count the three weddings I have been in. And somehow the thought of wearing strapless yellow chiffon just doesn't make my toes curl. So a shopping I did go.

Guess what? I found three really nice dresses that I actually like. All three were on a really good clearance. All three of them were under $15, wow! All three fit really well. All three look pretty good on. And yes all three are black. I really didn't mean to buy all black. It was just that it was the only color I found that I liked. Maybe I have just gotten to the age where black is the only color that actually looks half way decent on me. Oh well. I guess you know what I will be wearing to dinner.
And yes, that is me in the pics. I decided to try on a few wigs while I was shopping.

Tubular!!!!

Tubular!!

Remember that word? Those like me, who grew up in the eighties will remember. lol

Monday night we took the boat out for the first time this summer!! No I don't know what we have been waiting on. We had a great time. The kids took turns tubing off the back of the boat. The little guys loved jumping off the boat into the lake. Fred was in his element on the water. And I enjoyed watching my family have a great time.

So much to do, so little time.

We have been sooooo busy. Saturday was full of errands and work. Then Kathryn and Caleb came over for burgers and rook. Caleb cooked the burgers on our new grill and did a great job. Fred got a new grill for fathers day and we have really enjoyed using it. Why didn't Fred cook? Well that is a rather interesting story.

We were fixing to get ready for dinner Saturday when Johnny showed up. Johnny is a mechanic that Fred uses to work on our cars. He seems knowledgeable. However I wonder about his work ethic. He has been fixing my air conditioner and transmission since January. Granted he is cheap. But, the time frame seems a little excessive. Perhaps the fact that he pulls up to our house and puts a bucket under his van because it is leaking transmission fluid should tell us something. Personally it speaks volumes to me. To me it says we need a new mechanic. To Fred it says he is in the same boat as we are therefore surely he can sympathize with our situation. And since he is dealing with it himself he MUST know something about it.

You tell me who is right.
