Grace and I went to the Tennessee Theatre this morning to watch the Tennessee Children's Dance Ensemble perform. We had a really nice time. The dancers were amazing, the costumes were beautiful and the music was very moving. We enjoyed spending the morning together.
It would not have mattered if the performance was good or not. I love to go the the Tennessee Theatre regardless of what I see. The atmosphere is unbelievable. I enjoy every aspect of the experience. I go into sensory overload when I am there. Visually the place is astounding. The colors and artistry are truly a site to behold. The renovations done in 1999 really maintained the integrity of the theatre. Then theres the acoustics, undeniably the best! Who needs to hear things in stereo when you can listen to the sounds of the Mighty Wurlitzer. Which has also been completely refurbished. Then there is the smell. I know that most of you are thinking that is really strange. But I love the smell!! It just brings such a since of nostalgia to me. Needless to say it was a great experience for me and I was able to share it with my daughter. I am grateful.
It has been a busy and somewhat stressful day. But, I will forget about having to hurry to get to piano on time. I will forget about having to cram everyone in the Jeep because the van still isn't fixed. I will forget that I had more things to do today than I had time to accomplish them in. I will REMEMBER the morning I went to the Tennessee Theatre with my daughter. It is a good memory. It is a good day.
